I became interested in hockey on a family trip to Canada when I was 5. At this time my parents planned for us to immigrate to Canada the following year. When we arrived to Canada in August of 2010, I was 6 years old and could not skate. However, I really wanted to play hockey, so I spent a year learning to skate and was finally able to start playing hockey when I was 7. I immediately fell in love with the sport. I was asked to play goalie for a game and after my turn in net, I knew that would be the position for me. It took me two years to convince my parents that I really wanted to play goalie and could be good at it, so from the age of 9 that is the only position I have played. I have never looked back.
My academic goals are to study Kinesiology with a view to work in sports. I would also like to consider coaching in the future. I have a great passion for sports in general and enjoy learning new sports, especially since this seems to be one area that I can learn and pick up on very quickly. I like to learn the rules and the mechanics of sports and feel that this helps me be a leader when playing on teams.
My hockey goals going forward are to play at the highest level possible for the rest of my Midget years and then move onto college or junior hockey. I hope to keep progressing and play for as long as possible and at high level.
