My name is James Sayles, and I am a committed, dedicated and hard working individual who always finds a way to work around things and complete any task at hand. The family I have grown up with has showed me how to be a good person, and strive toward achieving my goals. I know that I am a very well rounded individual as I have done very well in school up to this point, been a good person serving my community as well as completing volunteer work.
I am currently completing grade 10 at MDCSS in Cambridge, Ontario. In grade 9 I sustained an average above 80% and this year am well on my way to over 90%. For me, I would love to go to school somewhere so I can learn at the same time as playing hockey. My main interest's for school are architectural engineering as well as business studies. I chose these two options to be my first because of my love for math. In both these fields math is incredibly important, which I know I will love. I am currently taking a shop class where we are looking at rough building sketches, and next year I have already planned to take a take design course. I would be thrilled if my loving of hockey could help me achieve my education.
I started my hockey career around the age of four, playing for the Ayr flames in Ayr, Ontario. After many years of playing in Ayr, I jumped to the AAA program in Cambridge, Ontario. I played there for both Minor and Major Pewee before making the switch back to Ayr for bantam. When I was minor bantam I was a late born 2006 playing with 2005 kids. That year our team won the B OMHA championship. Now, I am currently back in Cambridge playing AA.
Outside of hockey, I have many other passions such as work, and a few jobs. I am currently a golf member at Whistle bear Golf and country club in Cambridge, Ontario. My main job throughout the summer is working for Washman Inc. ran by Johnny Fazakas. Johnny has been operating Washman for over 25 years. We mostly wash windows and houses as well as do general maintenance, but often run into more odd jobs. This summer I have applied to work at Galt Country Club, also in Cambridge Ontario. I am not afraid of hard work and I believe that I am capable of anything when I put my mind to it.
