Hello, my name is Dylan Searles, I am a 2006 born center from London, Ontario. I currently play for the St. Thomas Stars in the GOJHL. As a player I would describe myself as a reliable, hard working, playmaking center. I pride myself on the ability to win faceoffs and create plays. I am tenacious and relentless in my puck pursuit and have been described as a “workaholic” when it comes to practice and games. I love looking to set up the open guy but I am not afraid to show my ability to score as well. My well-rounded play style allows me to smoothly adapt to playing the wing when the situation calls for it. I have proven my capabilities the past two seasons by being selected to the Alliance U18 AAA All Star Team in both years. I’m also not shy about doing the dirty work and I love being a hard player to play against. The journey to this point hasn’t been an easy one and I’ve had to fight through a lot of adversity to get here, in my major atom year I was cut down to my local MD team. After a great season there I made the jump up to AA where I spent 5 years. Being a little bit of a late bloomer, I made the jump to U18 AAA where I played two seasons while also affiliating to the GOJHL. These two seasons were massive for my development. My goal to continue my hockey journey is to go to the USA, play junior hockey, and then receive a scholarship and play NCAA D1 hockey. My plan is to study sports medicine to eventually become a team doctor for a professional sports team. I believe that I am on a good path to achieve this goal as school is a priority. I graduated high school with a 94% average, but since NCAA hockey is a few years away I didn’t want to lose my study habits. Therefore, to maintain NCAA eligibility, I’m currently a part time student at Western University studying undergraduate kinesiology. Nearly all of my nights are spent studying and taking care of my body to ensure that I am at the top of my game both in the classroom and on the ice. In my free time I enjoy playing the guitar and volunteering at EPIC Sports Physio and with youth hockey development. I look forward to speaking with you regarding potential college hockey opportunities.
