Benjamin Gilmour '25 Recruiting Profile

 After being a competitive athlete since a young age in gymnastics, soccer and recently football, hockey is by far what motivates me daily.  So far in 2024-25, also top points earner as A Captain with my hockey club team (6 goals and 7 assists in 15 games played), plus won Gold as Captain of high school varsity team with 16 points (7 goals) in 7 games.  Currently skating with AA team, as well as played high school football as wide receiver.  Enjoyed winning gold in April 2024 Canadian International Hockey Academy’s Voyageur Cup scoring 5 points in 5 games alongside AAA and Junior B teammates. Hockey is very competitive in our Eastern Ontario region. I keep improving and challenging myself daily,  training in the gym and off-ice regularly and playing in 4 Spring AA Southern ON hockey tournaments in 2024 with the Cambridge Hitmen.  I'm a defensive Centre who wins face-offs often and takes care of my team mates, plus comfortable playing Right Wing or even Defence when needed.  I've been told I have a "nose for the puck" and am skilled at setting up plays, winning puck battles and taking it end to end.  I aspire to keep playing at higher level in post-secondary school as I grow into my 6'6" wing span, while I explore all the doors that will open during an academic career. I was born in Hong Kong, I speak french fluently and am keen to travel to play hockey and pursue new experiences.
