My entire life has centered around hockey. For as long as I can remember, all I've wanted to do was play hockey. I started at age 4 and have played ever since, the last 7 on a competition travel team. I'm a natural leader and I've been Captain or Alternate captain many times. In practice, the coaches always use me for examples of drills. I've gone to hockey camp in Minnesota, and won the stick-handling competition in my age group.
Academics is also important to me. For the 3 years of Middle School, I maintained a 90-plus average. At the end of 7th I was nominated for National Jr. Honor Society. I wrote an essay on my leadership experience and was chosen for NJHS. As a member, I had to have alot of volunteer hours every month. My favorite way to volunteer is teaching young kids how to play hockey, as part of Mike Modano's Little Rookie program.
In the Spring of this year I was chosen to be a part of TAC. (Texas Amateur Combine AAA camp). I competed with 2000 birth year kids from Texas, OK, & LA. I made it through 2 days of cuts and down to the final 30 players, just missing making the final cut.
College hockey is my dream. I've always wanted to play for the Golden Gophers in MN or Boston College. But I'd be happy playing anywhere, as long as I can play hockey and get a college degree at the same time--that's my plan!
