My name is Matias Aguilar, and I am from Colombia, where hockey is a rare and unique sport. My passion for hockey began at the age of 7 with roller hockey, but a life-changing decision led my family and me to the United States when I was 12, where I discovered ice hockey and fell even deeper in love with the sport's fast-paced and intense nature.

Throughout my hockey journey, I've been driven by a strong competitive spirit and have never let my smaller size affect my performance. Instead, I've leveraged my agility, speed, and aggressiveness to make a significant impact on the ice. I approach every game and practice with coachability and adaptability, willing to learn and play any position to benefit the team.

Balancing my passion for hockey with a dedication to academics, I've challenged myself with multiple Honors and AP classes while maintaining high grades. My ambition is to play hockey at the college level, ideally at the Division 1 level, while pursuing a high-quality education. I believe my work ethic, dedication, and ability to thrive in both athletic and academic settings make me a strong candidate, and I eagerly look forward to joining a college team, making a positive impact, and embracing the opportunities that lie ahead."
