Lily Revelas '21 Recruiting Profile

From the moment I jumped into the pool for my first ever team practice and took my first stroke I knew one thing was real: I fell in love with swimming. A love so deep I strove to give it my all - from my mind and body, to my spirit and my soul. Swimming has given a home and an outlet from the trials life throws at me.  It has made who the person I am today; compassionate, driven, and prompt. That is why it has always been a goal of mine to swim in college; to continue my dream.

    My coaches say I am motivated and positive. I always try to keep a smile on my face, no matter how grueling the set, how hard the test or how difficult the day may be. I put my all into practices and treat every swim like my last. During hard swims, in practice or at a meet, I like to pretend that if I can just make it one more lap or if I can just do two more underwaters I will win the gold. I am always striving to win the gold in and out of the pool. Personally part of winning a race is having an amazing team to celebrate with me, or in oppositon, having a team to support me when things are not going well. I strive diligently to build healthy relationships with my team mates and would not consider myself one to get into drama. 

    As a freshman in high school, I am not 100% certain what I want to study in college, but I am very interested in business. More specifically international business. I am looking for a college who is going to challenge me academically and help me achieve my goals. I want to be apart of a strong swim team who is interested in team building and swimming fast. My dad was a swimmer for University of North Carolina at Wilmington and always tells me stories of how he was motivated to be his best through his dedicated team mates and his enthusiastic coach. I hope to one day be apart of something that amazing.
