Nothing in my life is average. I don’t look like my friends, and I have different interests. I’m one minute younger than my twin brother, and we have twin brothers two years younger. Our house is chaotic, and everyone is ADHD - even my mom. We have too many cats, but we love them all. There’s also chickens, goats, horses, and dogs. I knew how to collect eggs, clean a stall, and drive a truck before most kids learn to ride a bike. Our family works hard, plays hard and we have great adventures. Winters are on the ice, but summers are outside.
Hockey has been my focus. For the 24-25 year, I'll be playing 18AAA for Wenatchee. Last year I lived in Greer, SC and played for the Maine Nordiques Academy (16U) team. The year before I lived in Andover, MA and played for MXB (Middlesex Bears), a development team. We played prep schools primarily. It was an awesome opportunity and I improved a lot. In 2024 I started working with Ryan Minkoff (advisor).
I started hockey in the second grade. I played on a house team a few years, then I was invited to go to some tournaments. This led to a spot on the Ice Pilots Select team. I did that and one year of high school hockey (9th grade). I love it. My twin brother is a goalie. The coach tells me I am good a waiting for the right moment to knock the puck away or put it in the net. I never give up, even if I mess up. I am tenacious and determined. My ‘dream’ college would have a hockey team, a mountain biking team, and an automotive engineering program.
When I was eight years old, I started tinkering with my first RC car. I drove my mom nuts taking things apart around the house, so she gave me a workbench in the garage. I make custom components for my RC and my mountain bike. I also have an old Honda CRX Si (1988). You can see stories on my Instagram (Free-range Almond). I learned most of my mechanical skills from YouTube, and some from my dad. He was an aircraft mechanic. I’ll be the fifth generation in my dad’s family to become a private pilot when I get my pilot’s license.
During the summer of 2023 I was hired to be a bike mechanic at McU's. I'm back working at McU's this summer. In the summer of 2022, I worked at the local ski/mountain biking resort, Bogus Basin. Most of my summer money goes to hockey fees and I have an IRA. When I'm not working in the summer, I mountain bike, downhill and cross-country. I have competed for the Canyon County Composite Cycling team (NICA) and are racing downhill and enduro this year.
