My name is Emily Osborn and I am a 5'3 catcher/ utility. I have aspired to play collegiate softball since I could walk. I have always had the influence of baseball/softball in my life since I have an older brother that is 14 years older than me. My brother has been my biggest inspiration in my softball career and life. He was a four year varsity starter and ended up walking on at The University of Washington. Softball is a very important part of my life and I am so thankful that I've had so many mentors growing up. This sport is more than a sport to me, it's a lifestyle. Softball has taught me so many life lessons like perseverance, good work ethics, and to keep a positive attitude no matter what. I've been playing the sport since I was 4 years old and have been playing travel ball for the past 6 years of my career.
Besides being an avid softball player, I'd like to say that I am a pretty well rounded person. Outside of my softball life I like to hunt and fish and I also play competitive volleyball. I also take my academics very seriously. All through elementary school I was labeled as "Highly Capable" and was given extra courses to challenge my brain. This continued throughout middle school and junior high were I was placed in all honors classes. While in these honors classes I have managed to keep a 3.9 GPA and was put on the Principal's Deans List for both 8th and 9th grade as well as being on the Honor Roll. I have also participated in ASB since the 7th grade and was elected 9th grade ASB and class president. In college, I am looking for a school that will not only challenge me athletically, but also academically. My plan is to major in Criminal Justice and go into federal law enforcement after college. I am not only a strong academic candidate but also an athlete who is highly coachable, competitive, and a team player, that will no doubt add value to your school.
