Going into my freshman year of track, my gym announced me “Athlete of the Year” out of several very skillful teens. At the time I was not aware how much this accomplishment would affect me, but looking back I would not be where I am today without it. Doors were opened up for me to start the year running varsity as a freshman; I got put on relay teams and got the chance to fall in love with the 400-meter dash. I’d been in love with the sport since I started at nine years old; my passion continues to grow. I have learned the results of hard work and the joy that comes out of seeing it pay off. Track has taught me how to take care of my body and that is a skill I will carry with me forever. I’m searching for a program that helps me strive academically as well as athletically to become the best person I can become. I want to get the most academically out of my college experience, as well as get the opportunity to run at a higher level. I know I have what it takes to be a powerful asset to your team! Thank you, coaches, for taking the time to view my profile!
