Lacrosse is not only a sport to me but it is a lifestyle that I incorporate into every aspect of my life. When I study for a test I do so not only to get good grades, but I study to be a better athlete. In all aspects of my life, I want to be the best I can be. I believe that the physical part of sports is only a quarter of the battle and that the other three quarters is all mental. The mental aspect is so important to me because in everything I do whether it be running, lifting, studying or playing wall ball I strive to be the best version of myself I can be.
Lacrosse has been part of my life for almost 9 years. My club team started out with my oldest brother and 11 kids and within 2 years grew to 20 kids and my other brother. I joined the team of 5th and 6th graders while I was in 3rd grade because I spent my afternoons watching my brothers play. As soon I picked up the old beat up stick that lived in the closet I was infatuated with the sport. For the next few years, I continued to play in tournaments all across Colorado and against teams that had double the amount of kids as us. As I became a freshman my dreams of playing higher level lacrosse set in and I started working harder than in the past. I have two older brothers that are hard working and I surpassed them in size and in work ethic. I was the only Freshmen in my school to start and led the team in goals only being surpassed by an All-State Senior.
I want to play high-level lacrosse because I live for competition. I like to have the mentality of a lion, in the sense of not only enjoying the feast of catching a gazelle but in loving the process, seeing the gazelle run and chasing after it. Putting in the hard work to earn the prize of winning. I put that to work in playing wall ball or lifting in the gym and it is shown when I take the field and help my team succeed. I dream about college lacrosse every day of the year and I am willing to do study hard and work hard to achieve that.
