My name is Elijah Hayes-Miller, and I am currently a Cadet at the US Naval Academy Prep School (Navy Prep) in Newport, Rhode Island. I would appreciate being considered for an opportunity to be a student-athlete at your Academy or University. My graduation from Navy Prep is May 13, 2021.
I was offered an appointment to the US Coast Guard Academy back in December 2019 as a lacrosse recruit and was sent to NAPS first to develop academically, physically and militarily. I'm currently in process of looking into schools with my intended major (engineering) and a lacrosse program with roster space for your class of 2025 in the event that I don't attend the USCGA after NAPS.
I hold four varsity letters in lacrosse (LSM and crease-defensemen) and three in football (defensive and tight end). My lacrosse specialties are Man-Up and Man-Down. I expect to receive another letter in each sport next year. Below is a list of a few of my athletic accomplishments:
*US Naval Academy Prep School Lacrosse (Defense)
*Lacrosse Coaches Award (2020) - Woodrow Wilson High School (Washington, DC)
*Varsity Lacrosse Captain (2020) - Woodrow Wilson High School (Washington, DC)
*Horace Fleming Athletic Scholarship Recipient (2020) - Woodrow Wilson High School (Washington, DC)
*Most Improved Defensive Player 2016 (Lacrosse) - Varsity (Freshman Year) - Woodrow Wilson High School (Washington, DC)
*JV Defensive Captain (Football) (Sophomore Year)
*Varsity Defensive Lacrosse Captain (Junior Year)
*East Coast Showcase & Invitational Acceptance
*WIL Athletic Liaison for Woodrow Wilson High School (where I represent our student body throughout DC)
*Winners Youth Lacrosse Coach, Lafayette Youth Tennis Coach and FitCampNation Camp Counselor
*US Naval Academy Lacrosse Summer Program 2018 & 2019
*Nike Lacrosse Prospect Camp (ODU & Randolph Macon)
Along with my sports accomplishments, I was also in the JROTC program at Woodrow Wilson, where I am the S-2 for my battalion. I was recently honored with the Scottish Rite Leadership Award for contributing the most among cadets on campus to encourage and demonstrate Americanism; demonstrating academic excellence by being in the top 25% of my academic class; and demonstrating outstanding leadership by exhibiting qualities of dependability, good character, self-discipline, good citizenship and patriotism. I was also selected and attended the U.S. Naval Academy’s Summer Seminar, and Junior Cadet Leadership Camp which I’ve had the privilege to attend for the last three summers.
Below is a list of additional non-athletic accomplishment:
*Raiders Team Lead (1st Place in 3 competitions and 2nd Place in 2 competitions)
*POW-MIA Ceremony Presenter
*Over 350 hours in Community Service
During my 11th grade year, my highest GPA was a 3.73 and my lowest was a 3.29. I've taken several AP courses (4 so far, and another 2-3 next year). My future aspirations include being in an ROTC program (to major in aeronautical engineering), serving my country and becoming a pilot.
I'd love to learn more about your lacrosse program. If you or any of your scouts will be attending any DC area events in the near future, I’d appreciate the opportunity to meet you or your representative. In the event that you’ll need to contact Coach staff, please feel free to reach out to Mitch Gore at (202) 282-0120.
Lastly, below is a links to my highlight reels.
Thank you for your time,
Elijah Hayes-Miller
