To me there's a deeper meaning to being the best on the field and in the classroom. It doesn't just mean that you're the most athletic or intelligent. To me, it's a prime example of hard work paying off. We aren't given greatness, it is earned. And to earn it requires hard work and determination; to practice that move over and over till you get it to perfection or to go straight to your desk and start your homework right after the toughest practice that week. You could sit around and be content with the athletic abilities you've been given. Or the way I see it, you can get up off your butt and get twice as better and prove to everyone the sky's the limit. I will never stop working to be the best because as soon as I stop, there won't be goals to be met in my life. To play in college means the world to me, because instead of being content with ending your career the way it ended in high school, you can get even better with much better competition. Ever since I've been a kid playing sports like football and lacrosse, the answer to what you wanted to do has always been play professional. I'm happy to say that i still envision that.
