My goal for lacrosse is to become the best athlete that I can be and help my future teammates be the best selves they can be. The reason why I am a great candidate for your team is because I have been told by many coaches that I have a great personality and that I have ecstatic energy that is very contagious which helps not only me keep a smile on my face, but also helps lighten up the mood for others. What makes me different from other players is that I am a true leader. What I mean by "true leader" is that even though I haven't been named as a "captain" or "leader", I always chime in (when appropriate and not interrupting) and try to get everyone going so that my team can play like the score is 0-0 and keep pushing. I have been characterized by many of my acquaintances, family, friends, teammates, and coaches to have an "electric" persona but also very respectful and professional.
What separates me from others athletically is that as a freshman I played varsity tennis for a state championship team, played varsity hockey for a team that lost in the semi-finals of the state tournament, and started on varsity lacrosse. Not only have I been just a "3 sport athlete" my entire life, but I have been named as a captain on most of the teams that I have played for because I was (and still am) willing to step up to play any position without hesitation. My tennis coach (Mark Sobieralski) would always ask me "How do you spell fun? W. I. N." and as I played more and more, he would ask me this until I would respond with "W. I. N."
Academically I standout from a lot of kids. My freshman year I went through some rough patches in my life which resulted in me not getting grades that I was acceptable with. My sophomore year I had gone through some incidences that definitely destroyed me mentally and held me back from doing activities at my maximum potential like getting great grades in school and exceeding in athletics. These situations that I was put into taught me not only how to deal with situations that no one would even think about, but also molded me into the person I am. This year as a junior I knocked the ball out of the park with my grades this first quarter and will only keep raising because I was molded from a young adolescent boy into a mature young man who knows how to deal with almost any situation in a professional way. In the classroom I try my hardest to learn the most that I can and won't feel complete until I fully understand something.
This year I started to workout more and more which grew into a habit to go to the gym everyday and then go to the lacrosse field and play wall ball and work on dodging and footwork. I had a realization that lacrosse is something I want to do everyday for the rest of my life because I had fallen in love with the sport and everything about it. Having the chance to not only play at the next level but also everyday is something that am willing to do because I want to be the best that I can be at the thing that I love the most.
