When I was younger, I tried several different sports. I naturally gravitated to contact sports like lacrosse, wrestling, and martial arts because those sports challenged me both mentally and physically. Going into high school, I dedicated myself to lacrosse, including weight training, lacrosse training, and video review outside of practice. Unfortunately, I missed my freshman high school lacrosse year because of a life setback, which fortunately did not hold me back that summer or fall. This experience helped me grow even stronger from an academic and athletic standpoint, and also enhanced my leadership skills on and off the field.
Academics are important to me. I am curious, a natural learner, and realize learning continues beyond college throughout life. In order to challenge myself in high school, I took AP classes and succeeded in those classes. I will continue to challenge myself academically in college to gain a solid academic foundation which will allow me to achieve personal goals.
I balance my devotion to lacrosse, my coaches, my teammates, and rigorous academic responsibilities with passion, enthusiasm, and perseverance. Being a team leader by establishing an exceptional work ethic has enabled me to be successful on the field and off.
