My name is Ryan Williams, and I want to become a lawyer like my father. I want to attend college and major in either Economics or Political Science. I am a very hard worker, someone who grinds it out which is why I think that in a short time period (just over 5 years), I have become an effective defensive player. The High School that I attended for the first three years did not have a lacrosse team and I do not have that much experience playing for a club. It was through working out on my own and playing at prospect days and showcases that I have developed my game and was just recently selected by The Avon Old Farms School and Legends West Club Coaching Staffs. I am redoing my junior year and doing my senior year at Avon Old Farms so that I will attend there two years.
I originally wanted to play football, because I am very physical and like to hit. At my father's suggestion, I tried lacrosse and instantly fell in love with the sport as it combines basketball, soccer, hockey, and some elements of football. It is so much fun, and I have made several good friends, and really enjoy the tournaments and the college prospect days. I think what separates me from other prospective candidates is that I am still relatively new to the game, and really enjoy being coached. I am not so focused on playing time, and starting, and more interested in becoming the best player that I can be regardless of whether that means I get more playing time. I am just as content to cheer my teammates on as I am to be on the field. However, make no mistake, I will do everything I possibly can in terms of working hard in practice to earn time on the field.
