Taking lacrosse seriously has been the greatest decision that I have made so far in my life. It has made me realize how far I can take the sport, and where the sport can take me. I have learned that lacrosse is more than just a sport. To me, it is about earning a higher education while doing something that I love. My educational goal is to maintain a 85-95% average, so that I can attend the best college possible.
One obstacle I have had to overcome is my size. Having a late birthday, I am one of the youngest recruits in my class. I have had to overcome this obstacle by working on my stick skills, shot and foot speed; I practice drills daily, in all kinds of weather to improve these skills. I can now separate myself by being essentially ambidextrous on the lacrosse field. For example, while I am naturally right-handed, I currently start at lefty attack on both my school and club teams. Also, my footspeed has made me a dodging threat, which has increased my assist numbers a lot this past fall. Once my size and skill come together, I will be an excellent candidate to be an on-field leader for any level of play!
