Hi, my name is Thomas D’Angelo and I am a rising Junior. I play goalie for the Brighton high school Varsity Lacrosse team. In my 10+ years of experience, I have learned what it means to be a good listener, teammate, and leader. Being a goalie not only carries the responsibility of saving shots and clearing the ball, but also being the leader of the defense. My coaches often compare being a goalie to being the quarterback of the defense since my job is to direct them to know who is “hot”, what the rotation is, where the ball is, and when to slide. I fit this role well because I am a good communicator, I have a high lacrosse IQ, and I have good decision-making. I am a great listener, which makes me very coachable. I am always ready to learn more about lacrosse. Whenever my coach tells me to do something, I give 110% to get it done the right way. I am a great teammate because I always listen to what my teammates have to say. I hold my teammates and myself accountable when we make mistakes. I will explain in a constructive way what they did wrong and I will own up to anything I do wrong and fix it. Another factor that sets me apart is my strong work ethic, I strive to hit the wall every day, and watch as much film as possible to be a student of the game. My goals are to play lacrosse at a high level in college and pursue a career in either business or medicine. I am ready to work hard and give 110% to achieve those goals.
