I began playing lacrosse in the spring of 2nd grade (9 years ago) and I instantly fell in love with the sport. Much to my dad's dismay, I traded in my baseball bat for a lacrosse stick! I have been playing lacrosse for as far back as I remember and it has taught me many lessons. The one lesson that stands out the most is "no single player can win a game for his entire team", its a thinking mans game and requires all the parts of the team to execute plays and WIN. This sport has shown me to communicate and work with others to achieve a shared goal, in this case: winning. I've played for the same coach, Christian Doller my entire lacrosse career: travel, PAL and varsity lacrosse. My coach is far more than his title would describe, he's a mentor far beyond the game and I've grown to value his guidance and advice far beyond the field. I believe my progression into an MFO comes from my speed and strength. What I lack in size, I make up for in grit and a neverending desire to be better. I must say I would love to see where I go with specific training, guidance and dedication at X. While I do take individual lessons with one of New Yorks best FOGO, it it me who is responsible at X come game day and it is soley my responsibility to take both my teacher and coaches lessons to to my position and my team. I come from a family where academics is emphasized greatly so I must maintain high grades and take AP courses that challenge me. At the close of sophomore year, my current weighted average is about a 97/98 and I scored a 1410 on my SAT at 16. It's a tricky balance having time to train for varsity lacrosse and varsity football while living up to the academic standards my parents set forth, they are supportive of of me on and off the field and for that I am grateful. In college, I'd like to major in engineering and/or computer sciences because I have a very strong interest in the way things work. Computer Sciences only recently crossed my radar while researching up and coming technologies that will allow me to provide for a family in the future. I believe I could excel in either or both as I lean very far to the mathematical side and I'd like to further explore my interests in a college that will help educate me and propel me into a rewarding career. While attending school, I would like to play for a team where the lacrosse program is strong and will better me as a player but also as a person and teamate, one that will allow me to maintain the morals my parents have instilled in me and prepare for life after college. I have enjoyed volunteering with my both my teams on and off the field in youth camps and working with children with special needs. Its a certain rewarding experience that is beyond words and always keeps me in check about the things I have to be thankful for. I can't wait to start exploring where I will be headed in the future ( I'm hoping its a good time too)!
