Hello, my name is Matthew and I live in north Carolina. I will be graduating in 2024 from Mooresville high school. I have been playing varsity lacrosse since freshman year and I became a starter my sophomore year. I am a very versatile player with my main position being Face off/middie. I discovered lacrosse when I was in 6th grade and decided I wanted to try it out. I lived in San Antonio Texas at the time and there were not very many lax programs there. However we found one about an hour away and I started to love the sport. When I finally learned to catch and pass I started to discover more of what lacrosse was about, I loved the strategical plays and quick pace of the game. It was both entertaining and fun to play.
I finished out my 6th and 7th grade with the Texas club team Reagan before moving to north Carolina. I played my 8th grade season for lake Norman united before playing for my high school. In addition to playing for Mooresville high school I have played club with both the running Rebels and Carolina Miners during the fall and summer. I have attended a couple of Lacrosse camps including the Miles jones pro lacrosse camp, UNC Chapel Hill prospect day, the D3 showcase in new jersey, and the 3 day High point University prospect camp.
Sports and athleticism are very important however I know I must perform academically as well. I have done my best to maintain an UNWEIGHTED GPA of 3.8. Along with my athletic goals I also have academic goals. I am very interested in studying some sort of Pre Law class so that I can one day be an attorney.
I am really hoping to play lacrosse in college, because there is nothing better than the brotherhood of a team and the experience of playing alongside them.
