BASIC INFO: My name is Cayden Bartusek. I am a 2026. I play Attack and sometimes middie. My dominant hand is my right. I go to Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. I play for Texas Nationals, Iron Horse, MadLax Nationals, and Stickstar Box. I also play Water Polo (made varsity as a freshman & won MVP). I am a very firm believer in a STUDENT-ATHLETE.
ABOUT ME: My strongest attributes on the field are being able to play off-ball, my game IQ/adaptation to anything that comes my way on the field, inside finishing, craftiness, and physical dodging/brushing off checks. I believe my background in box lacrosse has helped considerably. Some areas I can work on are quicker changes in direction and being more of a shooter/ I am told I pass up a 50% shot for a teammate with a 60% shot. I will continue to work on these and improve my skills. I would say I am a very strong leader/teammate. I know how to communicate effectively with teammates in a way where they understand that they need to improve/change something but also don’t take it personally in a bad way. I also believe that to be a good leader you have to set the right example and also acknowledge good plays that your teammates have made. I believe I am very strong mentally where if I make a bad play I don’t dwell on it, but think about what I can do better and apply it next time. One thing I have improved on mentally is not rushing to make a good play right after messing up the play earlier. I believe my school, coaches, teachers, family, and friends will really help me to improve in all the areas that I have discussed. I also believe an important part of my formation as a STUDENT-ATHLETE is getting the best grades possible and also serving the less fortunate whether it is in a soup kitchen or delivering life-saving medicine.
FOR THE COACH: I know I would bring energy, passion, leadership, and grit to the team. I want to lead a team to its full potential. It is essential for the team I play for someday at the collegiate level to have good moral values and communication. Although I want to win as many NCAA and PLL championships as possible, What I want to gain from college lacrosse is how to be a man for others, a student of the game, and a Leader. And of course a National Champion.
WRAPPING UP: I know I would be a great asset to the team because of my leadership, grit, and passion for the game. I have goals for this sport and plan to succeed and surpass them.
