2015 was a year of change. I was moving to a new home in a new state and going to attend a new school, so why not try a new sport? My family moved to the Houston area in August of 2015. We didn't know anyone so the transition was tough. I had played baseball for years but I figured why not change everything and asked my parents to sign me up for lacrosse. What started as a few Saturday morning clinics turned into my new favorite sport. Lacrosse carried me through the transition, providing me with something to focus on and giving me a group of friends. Being new to the sport and playing with those who had far more experience required me to put in extra work. During my freshman year, I started on JV and was on the Varsity roster. My playing time on Varsity was minimal that year which lit a fire in me to train in order to earn playing time. As a sophomore I started on Varsity and continued to put in the work. As a junior this year, the coaches have given me the privilege of being a Varsity Captain. It is important to me to lead well on and off the field. As I move on to college, I desire to continue to push myself in athletics while maintaining high academic standards and living with integrity.
