Personal Statement

When I was in grade school, I played baseball and soccer.  I picked up lacrosse in fourth grade after seeing a friend playing the game.  I enjoyed the faster pace and instantly fell in love with the speed, stick skills and team tactics of the sport.  I looked up to the high school players and knew I wanted to play at that level.  I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself and my team.  I practice 2-3 hours a day between team practice, individual skills improvement and weight and cardio training.  I eat, sleep, and breathe lacrosse.  After a couple years of playing in the sport, I set my goals to play at the college level and maybe professionally as well someday.  I plan to pursue engineering and use that knowledge to design lacrosse equipment for the sport.

  • Camp/Event
  • Furman Prospect Camp - Houston Location
  • 12/16/18 to 12/16/18
  • It was a beautiful day to play lacrosse in Houston Texas. The Furman coaches came to Houston to run a prospect camp on the Strake Jesuit High School campus. We ran drills in the morning. Coach Meade gave a great talk to us at lunch time. In the afternoon, we broke up into a couple teams and scrimmaged the rest of the afternoon. It was good to see my friends from 3D Lacrosse and other parts of Houston.

  • I traveled to Boston this past weekend to compete in the Mayflower Showcase. The day was rainy but there was a lot of great lacrosse. My team 3D Texas 2021 competed in the Mayflower Invitational on Sunday. It was a little cold in the morning but it warmed up and it was great fall weather. Our team won 1 of three games against some great east coast lacrosse teams. My coach me play middie this week opposed my usual attack position. It was fun and the games were intense.

  • 5/15/18 to 6/30/18
  • I will be training with 3D Houston Club Team this summer instead Houston Hounds. The Hounds canceled their program only recently so I had to shift gears and join the excellent 3D Houston LAX program. Their squad was already full so I may not play any tournaments with them but I will update my status if they do. I still plan to be at UA Southwest tryouts on June 2nd in Colorado and Diamond Showcase in Ocean City in July.

As a freshman on the varsity squad, I started x11 of our x11 games. I scored x14 goals in the season with x4 assists. It was a tough season for the team but I know we are going to come back stronger next year. I am looking forward to this summer season.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2018 UMBC Men's Lacrosse Winter Prospect Day
  • 2/25/18 to 2/25/18
  • About x40 players were present for the camp. After warm-ups, we broke off into position specific drills for a large portion of the morning. We follow up the instructional portion with small sided drills, odd numbered situations and scrimmages. We wrapped up the camp with full game scrimmage. It was a great event and I liked meeting the other players and coaching staff.
