From the second I picked up a lacrosse stick in middle school, I knew I wanted to play at a collegiate level. In middle school, our team didn’t have a goalie. I didn’t know what I was getting into, but I stepped up to the plate anyway. Six years later and I’m still playing lacrosse as a goalie for my high school team and club teams. I am very driven and take a rigorous course load. I was one of fifty picked for the James River High School Leadership Program and by the end of this school year I will have taken 6 AP classes, one dual enrollment class and have taken all honors courses. I also maintain a 3.9 GPA. I am also a hard worker. I was involved in Scouting for 10 years and earned my Eagle Scout Award before the age of 16. I hiked Mt. Baldy (12,441 feet) at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and completed a 50 mile backpacking and kayaking trip down the New River in West Virginia. My highest priority is a strong academic course load with the ability to play competitive lacrosse. In closing, my hard work and dedication will be an asset to your athletic program.
