I played my first lacrosse game during the third grade in Portland, Oregon. I didn't touch the ball during my first game but by the end of the season, I made the All-Star Team. Since then I have developed a passion for the game and am hoping to play at the collegiate level. Even if I don’t play in college, I hope lacrosse will always be a part of my life, as a player, a coach or a referee.
Academics: I am a hard worker and very self-motivated. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and am taking multiple college-level classes during my Junior year. I am very interested in the fields of science and math and may pursue Engineering or Architecture.
Athletics: Outside of the classroom, I am a three-sport athlete but lacrosse has always been my favorite. I am a midfielder with the versatility to play LSM. I work hard in the weight room and in practice year-round to excel on the field. My powerlifting coach, Zack Zengel, nominated me for Athlete of the Month in January 2020, writing, “Therin has been a prime example in the weight room by doing the right thing all the time and encouraging others to be their best. He goes above and beyond the expectation by constantly doing additional work and giving his best effort each and every day.”
Volunteerism: I have had a lot of advantages in life: a supportive family, excellent health and a lot of resources. I hope to help those that are not as fortunate and pass my love of lacrosse on to younger players.
