Early in my high school sports career, I have experienced some heart-breaking moments, whether it be losing on a last-second buzzer-beater on the basketball court in the playoffs or losing in the state quarterfinals on the lacrosse field. These humbling experiences have helped me grow as a player and a person tremendously. Personally, I believe I have learned more from my failures and losses than from my successes and wins. My drive largely comes from remembering that final whistle after those tough losses and never wanting to experience that feeling again. I am always trying to get better on my own by constantly being in the weight room, shooting, or hitting the wall. On the lacrosse field, the skills I have developed and the lessons I have learned have allowed me to try to put my team before me and always do what is best for the team.
I am looking for a program that has a system in place that I will fit into and is an excellent academic fit for me. I value the academic piece of being a student-athlete in the same regard as the athletic piece. I'm at the top of my class and challenge myself with the courses I take. I hope that my college experience will be challenging academically and will allow me to grow greatly as an athlete and a person.
