Hello my name is Mathias Rincon. I started rowing in September 2022 at the Texas Rowing Center in Austin. I was promoted to Varsity as a freshman in Spring 2023 after being awarded Most Promising Rower on the Novice team. I have since competed largely in U17 categories at US Youth Nationals (6/2024 4X 3rd place B finals), US Youth Central Regionals (4X 1st place, 4+ 3rd place), San Diego Crew Classic (4X 3rd place), and Head of the Charles (4+ 9th place). I have fallen in love with the sport as it has helped me grow as a person (accountability, discipline, leadership, teamwork) and given me lifelong friendships.
Our family moved up to northern Chicago during the summer of 2024 and I am currently a junior at New Trier High School. As a member of the school’s varsity rowing team, competing mostly in 8+ boats, I hope to continue growing as an athlete and rowing in college and beyond.
