My best quality is my determination to improve every aspect of my rowing skills. I am constantly in the gym focused on pushing myself on and off the erg. Furthermore, I look up to my father for advice on technique and workouts as he rowed professionally in Cairo, Egypt, which is where he's from, and I'm completely driven to reach the same level that he reached while I'm in college. The reason why I should be a good candidate for a college team is my potential and my competitiveness. I have only been rowing for two months; however, my obsession with becoming a stronger and better rower has allowed me to improve my erg scores drastically. Also, my competitiveness is matched by academics as well since I have excelled throughout high school and a medical summer program to achieve my goal of being a cardiovascular surgeon one day. Therefore, I differ from other recruits in my drive to succeed in every aspect of life, my fierce competitiveness to push myself, and, most importantly, my untapped potential to become much better.
