When I was fourteen years old I made the difficult choice to attend a high school that had very high academic expectations. Because of their rigorous academic demands, they do not participate in IHSAA team sports. This meant that I would never get the opportunity to play on a high school tennis team. I got my tennis team "experience" through my year-round tennis program and I soon began to learn how to balance both demands on and off the court. I became very involved in my tennis program and was often called on by my coach to take on leadership roles such as working USTA tournaments and being in charge of the organizations' social media page. I've always known I wanted to play college tennis and it was further solidified for me when I participated in a team tournament that was hosted by my club. It was during that weekend that I experienced the amazing feeling of sharing wins and losses with my teammates. Whatever college I end up playing for I will be a player who is fully committed and willing to do what is in the best interest of the team.
