I am a highly motivated person both in athletics and academics. I have been rowing since eighth grade, and have continued to row every season since then. I even rowed in a single during the height of the pandemic so I could keep practicing on the water.
Organizing rowers as well as regattas and events are some of my responsibilities as my team's elected captain. Outside of school, I use my Concept 2 trainer for different erg pieces suggested to me by my coaches for what we are working on that week. In addition to this, I also go to lift weights at the gym 2 times a week during the race season to ensure that I am building up muscle mass as well as gaining endurance from practicing on the water. During the off-season, I tend to do more weight lifting to really ensure that I am building muscle for the race season.
To be where I am today I have had to put in a lot of time and effort and I intend to keep putting in this same time and effort in college and higher-level teams that I join. In addition to this, I want to help my future teammates to succeed and will do anything I can to help them succeed.
