Personal Statement

I was introduced to rowing during 8th grade by my friends and family friends. Before rowing, I had played a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, and cross country, but never seemed to fit in anywhere. Rowing was the first sport where I found a sense of belonging and camaraderie that I had never experienced before. I've rowed for over 4 years now, having experience in every type of boat. I've received amazing opportunities to race in places such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Canada. With both high academic and athletic goals, I know that I will need to build upon my work ethic and mental to improve in order to achieve my goals. I aspire to row at the highest level while studying on a pre-med track. I have experience in student government, and leadership conferences, as well as teaching and volunteering with younger children. As someone whose parents have taught them all about overcoming adversity and that with hard work you can achieve anything, I feel that I would bring a great package to any team both on and off the water.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
