My name is Gavin Murphy, and I began my rowing journey with the Princeton National Rowing Association/Mercer during my novice season. It was an incredible experience, highlighted by a 4th place finish in the U16 8+ final at Youth Nationals. I couldn't have asked for a better first year!
Before my sophomore year, I relocated to Brookline, MA, where I joined the varsity team at Brookline High School—Go Warriors! We had another successful season, finishing 12th in the U17 4+ at Youth Nationals in Spring 2024.
I thrive on challenges both on and off the water, maintaining a rigorous academic schedule. Last year, I completed AP Calculus with a score of 5 on the exam, and this year I'm taking three more AP courses: AP Statistics, AP Biology, and AP US History. I have a keen interest in neuroscience and medicine, and I'm actively involved in the neuroscience club while also working with seniors at the local senior center.
In addition to rowing and academics, I have a passion for stand-up comedy and proudly serve as the founder and president of the BHS Comedy Club.
