I want to row in college because I enjoy the competition of the sport, and at the collegiate level I believe I can find more of that. Academically, I am a strong student, as I am a fast visual type learner. As a rower should, time management is a skill I have obtained due to long practices. Having rowing, school, a part time job, and a social life to balance is no easy task, but I have became accustomed to it. In my opinion I have more determination than most, and I can back this because when I was participating in the Haddon Hammer, an event for rowing near Haddonfield, I had pneumonia. I still participated despite my illness. My father was a boater, and I inherited the same love for boating, and being on the water that he once had. He passed away during my freshman year of high school during the Spring season of rowing, and it only made me stronger.
