In the fall of 2013 my freshman year of high school I was given the opportunity to try out for a sport I knew nothing about, rowing. During the fall season I rowed both novice and varsity eight boats.I instantly fell in love with the rush and high intensity working together with advanced varsity athletes.I continued working with the crew team through winter workouts where my overall physical strength was tested and significantly improved.
In the spring of 2014 I decided to turn my attention to baseball a sport I have played since the age of 5. Although the season was successful and I had the honor of being named captain my heart was with rowing. At that point I decided to give up my position behind the plate and dedicate myself to rowing full time.
It is my hope to find a school that will not only challenge me academically to pursue a career in economics, but to have the opportunity to be part of a top ranked rowing program.
