Dyson Ellison '20 Recruiting Profile

I have and always loved playing soccer. I have been playing since I was four and it has gone from a game to a way of life. Over the years I have been on a variety of different teams but my freshman year was especially hard. I was one of 2 freshmen on the varsity team and the only freshman to start. As the youngest and smallest I had to work for every minute of playing time and every moment on that pitch. Eventually, I became the captain of the Varsity team my freshman year. 

I love to win and I love winning with my team. I love training and growing and learning with my teammates as we push each other to constantly be better.  Losing has always come hard to me and it always will, but sometimes the sacrifice and commitment of not getting the trophy helps you win in the long run. I believe everything on a team is done as a family, as a family you win and you lose together. For me, whether on the field or at home or at school, I believe in hard work to get results. 

One of the things I hope to find in a great program is a program that challenges me physically and academically. My whole life I have been a student-athlete, and I have always been told the student comes first. I use the same level of dedication and hard work I put on the field into the classroom. I also put the same level of work at work as well while I worked part-time as well. I am also on Varsity Football where I was a captain as well, while still being actively involved in my school, community, and church. I was able to do all of this in high school, I have a 4.0 GPA and was #1 in my class. 

My high school years have flown by and I have enjoyed every second of it. I can't wait to begin college and continue onward. I would welcome any opportunity to talk to you more about your program and what I could offer to it.
