Personal Statement

It is a dream of mine to play college soccer. I have a 4.04 cumulative GPA and plan to keep it that way, I am as focused on my academics as I am playing soccer. Playing varsity on my first year of high school is one of the things that helped me grow as a player because I was a starting freshman playing against seniors which pressured me to play more physical and technical. Also, I have experience playing against athletes that are older than me with my club team, B02 Apple Valley Storm Academy, in which I was a starter as well. I had been on that same team since 2013. For 6 years I have led my team through a premier championship, 2 national cup finals, and many other top tier tournaments such as surf cup, Manchester city cup, the National Premier League, and California Regional League. I’m both an attacking and defensive midfielder for my team and have some experience as a winger. I feel that these qualities set me apart from other recruits because it shows that I am a well rounded player and am able to adapt to any situation/position.

What really sets me apart from other candidates  is the fact that I believe I can always improve myself. Any time I’m not doing homework to maintain my 4.0 or practicing with my club, I am doing extra work on my own whether it be technical work, gym work, fitness, or agility. I found ways to keep myself driven and accountable for growth through my social media. On my Instagram, one will see all of the training sessions that I do and they see how invested I am in my craft. Something that goes hand-in-hand with my training is the fact that I also speak with my coaches frequently to discuss what I can do better on the field as a player and to help me play college soccer.  I also try to communicate well with my teammates at all times because I believe that good chemistry within the team leads to success on the field.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsAcademics are very important to me and my family. Throughout my high school career, I have never had anything lower than a 3.8 GPA. That being said, I have gotten an award every semester of school thus far( currently a senior) for mu academics. - 3 academic honors awards (3.5+ GPA at the end of the semester) - 3 high academic honors awards(4.0+ GPA at the end of the semester)
  • ActivitiesIn order to fund-raise for my high school soccer team, I handle the parking when Brewster Park is hosting state cup or all-stars. Also, whenever I have free time, I am a referee on the weekends. During my Junior year I also had a part time job at Jack In The Box. I currently have a job at a drywall company. I am an older brother of 2 and so I have acted as a tutor ever since I was in about 6th grade. I also coached a recreation soccer team in my Sophomore year and currently offer personal soccer training to people of all ages around my community.
