I’ve played soccer since I was four, and for me, it’s pure joy. Yes, I was the kid who constantly kicked the ball against the couch while we’d watch a movie, or dribble it under the table while doing homework. For me it’s always been all soccer all the time.
Soccer plays to my strengths. My agility, speed, endurance, quick reflexes, and strong soccer IQ allow me to read opposing offenses, stop plays before they develop, cut off passes and passing lanes, and empower our counterattacks. I love the game. I love that you have to think quickly and strategically to play well. I play seamlessly at my position, and/or switch as necessary.
My lean, strong body packed into my 5’7” frame combined with my quickness and agility, allow me to man-up on any size opponent, and cover more field than you’d think I could given my size. Parents on the sideline call me the Energizer Bunny because I inject so much energy and determination into the team at practice and during games. My strength and endurance allow me to play at a high intensity for all 90 minutes of the game, so I typically play the entire game on both my club and high school teams.
I love to learn. I’m fortunate to attend one of the most academically rigorous high schools in the country. I’ve taken and succeeded in the most challenging courses offered. This past school year, every one of my courses was either AP or honors. I qualified as a National Merit Scholarship finalist with my PSAT score of 1490 (out of 1520). I haven't yet been able to take the SAT due to Covid-19 (my scheduled test dates have been cancelled), but I’m hoping to take it in late August.
I’m looking for an academically rigorous college where I can grow as a person and as an athlete while contributing to a competitive soccer team. I know that my love for soccer combined with my attitude, work-ethic and sportsmanship will make me an immediate asset for any team I have the privilege to join.
