I have been playing soccer for 12 years. I currently play at the 2003 USSDA level and have been for the past five years. Training for the USSDA requires traveling 3.5 hours each day round trip 4 days a week. Games are on weekends and can involve traveling long distances sometimes over 2-4 days. I complete homework and study while driving, late at night and early in the morning. I have consistently maintained a 4.0 GPA. With all the travel and school work, I have learned time management.
Over the last 5-6 years I played positions (#10, #8, #11, and #3) for the USSDA in different formations and styles of play. I have been characterized as underestimated, coachable, quick/agile, intelligent, play-maker, vision, first touch and a high work rate. Outside of soccer team training, I strength and core train at cross-fit, at home and regularly use a re-bounder.
I work hard at training, at games and at home. I have sat on the bench and understand you earn minutes. I work hard for my teammates and contribute to the team. I am very self motivated and understand hard work, frustration and challenges are all part of competing, school and being the best you can be.
Since Kindergarten, I have attended a christian school and volunteering hundreds of hours by serving others has been a big part of my education. I have served others with my soccer team, as part of the school curriculum, as well as in my free time.
I would like to attend a school with a high level of soccer and education. A school that offers several different types of majors as I am unsure of the career I will assume. I am confident in college I will continue to make unique and impactful contributions in my education, in soccer and in the community.
I have learned with hard work, dedication and balance, I can serve, achieve high grades and play at a high soccer level.
