I am a student-athlete. To me, that's not just someone who is in school and plays sports, it's much more than that. A student-athlete is someone who works hard and excels in everything they do. A true student-athlete has a great work ethic and knows how to apply concepts learned in the classroom to the field, and vice versa. For me, this means taking problem-solving skills and tactical thinking from my classes to the soccer pitch. I work hard and this is reflected in my grades and involvement in school. My cumulative weighted GPA and unweighted GPA are 3.89 and 4.43 respectively, and my current GPA is 4.86. I pride myself on my grades and I have taken the most advanced classes available to me consistently since my freshman year. I have taken/am taking 10 AP classes and multiple honors classes. I also am an extremely active member of my high school community. Whether it be through leading as ASB Vice President in student government, or moderating the soccer viewing-party club I founded, I find many ways to get involved in my community and work with people to plan exciting events.
On the field, I characterize myself as an intelligent and reliable player. Reflective of my behavior in the classroom, I look at the game with an analytical and tactical lens. Although I am fast and have good foot skills I think my greatest asset is that I am always thinking multiple passes ahead and communicating with my teammates trying to guide them as well. As a center back, I have ample opportunity to lead from the back, and my size and strength are helpful in controlling the backline and containing the opponent's quick and agile forwards. I bring a strong presence to the pitch and being a smart player, I am confident I can be a valuable asset to any college team, both on and off the field.
