I have been fortunate enough to participate in a team environment that has instilled in me the values of leadership, self-discipline, and balance. Having experienced several successful seasons of high school track and field I have come to realize that these values, and the subsequent habits that they pushed me to develop, have made me both capable and excited to run at the collegiate level. As a team captain and Eagle Scout, I have learned how to properly care for my teammates on the track whether it is teaching others how to properly perform drills, giving advice, offer after practice help, or simply being there for a new freshman. I am self-disciplined on and off the track. I hold myself to a high standard of performance by giving my all to this entire sport, and by asking many questions to further deepen my knowledge on sprinting. Between my freshman and sophomore year seasons I did whatever it took to improve and was eventually able to drop my 100 meter dash time by almost a second and my 200 meter dash time by almost 2 seconds. My drive to succeed does not just reside on the track, but also in the classroom. I take my academics very seriously by balancing honors and AP classes with my training as well as other extracurricular activities. I look forward to furthering my track career, and I am seeking a college program that will help me reach my full potential as a sprinter and as a student!
