Hello my name is Scott Lebo, and I am in my senior year at Fountain Valley School. I am from Colorado Springs, CO. Soccer is my passion and I have been playing for fifteen years now. I have played every position on the pitch, but I specialize in any defensive position. This year I played at center back for both my club and my high school. My preferred and best position is center back, however I can and will play anywhere I am needed. I feel comfortable playing anywhere across the back line or in the center of midfield. Choosing a single position that I consider my number one position is actually difficult because I feel confident and able all across the pitch. I am a four year varsity starter at Fountain Valley School, a three year starter at B-elite, and I started for my first season with Pride. I have captained the varsity team at Fountain Valley for three years. This past year I was named all conference honorable mention. This year I was named Team MVP, All Conference, and Second Team All State. No defenders made First Team All State and only 1 other made Second Team All State. I am 6'0" 170 lbs. On the pitch my greatest attributes come in my athletic ability, my recover speed/last ditch tackles, my tactical awareness, my strength in the air, and my long ball capacity. My speed and size give me a boost as a defender. My tactical awareness and my ability to send the long ball allow me to join the attack from my defensive roles. However I would not consider my foot skills or my shooting to be a weakness. As a defender my tendencies are to join the attack and I use these abilities to play offensively. I am very coach-able player. I am always aiming to improve in every aspect of my game. I spend my summer days running sprints, performing touch drills with my club and high school coaches, and lifting weights to improve. I am am also a very loud leader on and off the pitch. I love to motivate my teammates and to call out instructions during games. Having captained my high school as a freshman, as a junior, and as a senior I have been able to learn and grow as a leader over the past few years. I am willing to do whatever it takes for my teams, whether it be changing positions or going the extra mile to help in game preparation. I am looking for a challenging school academically. In college I want to study either civil engineering or architecture. I am also looking for a school where I can play soccer not within the club programs. I am looking for a close knit team environment where team chemistry is high. I take my academics very seriously. My father is a math teacher and my mother is a former English teacher and I have lived my whole life in an academic first environment. This past year I am focusing my studies towards Math and Science taking BC Calc. and AP Physics. This year I will be taking a variety of classes that will challenge me and prepare me to pursue a STEM degree at university including a directed study in engineering. I was a first ballot inductee into the Fountain Valley Froelicher society. The Froelicher society at Fountain Valley school is a group of students who excel academically and in the community. Every semester the faculty will vote to add members to this society. I have also made Deans list 5 of my 6 semesters of high school and honor roll the other semester. Two Springs ago I was elected by my peers and teachers to be on the honor council as a Junior. The honor council consists of four boys and four girls. This year I am the only boy on the honor council from the class of 2022, the rest are from the class of 2021. The job of the honor council is to help uphold my school's rules and values. This past Spring I was voted to be one of three students on the student council that plan events and make changes to school culture. Thanks for your time, |
