I became interested in the position of goalkeeper when I found out that I could not score at all when I was young. I still wanted to play soccer so I decided to tryout as a goalkeeper the following year and I excelled at the position and surpassed kids at my age. What influences me the most is being humble. I have always been raised to never brag about my accomplishments or gloat. It still influences me today as a goalkeeper because I am always criticizing myself when other team mates are telling me I had a marvelous game. I also tend to be humble in the classroom, whenever I excel at some particular subject, I help other kids who are not as good as I am in that subject. I have learned many things about myself through playing soccer. One of them is that there is always going to be someone better than you and you have to work harder than the next guy. I have also learned that I tend to work the best when there is competition or high stress environments. I have overcome numerous obstacles to get where I am today. Some of the obstacles that I have beaten are people telling me that I should quit, opponents targeting to injure me during games, major muscle tears and recovering my goalkeeper dominance after. I carry unique characteristics with me on and off the field. On the field, I am able to flip that switch that puts me into game mode and perform my best. Off the field, I am a very friendly and outgoing person, I volunteer during the summer with children and teach them safety. Some of my goals for college is to become a doctorate of physical therapy and major in Exercise Science. One thing that people say when they meet me is that I am very talented and focused and tend to achieve the goals I put forward.
