Kaimana Newman '23 Recruiting Profile

I’ve played many different sports in the past, but nothing felt as special as the game of soccer. I started playing soccer when I was 7 years old. I enjoy being creative and developing plays together with my teammates. Hawaii is a great place to play soccer because the climate allows me to play soccer year round. I am currently playing with the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club (Men's Div-1 and U-19)and for Punahou School which has won numerous State Championships. I feel fortunate to play on these teams, for dedicated coaches and with driven teammates. I’m challenged daily, physically and mentally in these environments which helps me to be the best player I can be. Soccer has also provided memorable travel opportunities (Denmark, Sweden, France, California, Nevada, Idaho, and Colorado), to meet and play with other skilled players who are also great individuals.

I have a wide range of interests as I am curious about studying many different things. I am interested in learning more about the fields of business/entrepreneurship and film studies. I hope to attend a college that will allow me to explore my interests and play soccer. I aspire to play at a competitive level where I can learn and grow as a player while contributing to the team.

In addition to soccer, I am also an Eagle Scout with Troop 33. I have served as Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Scribe, Webmaster, and Quartermaster. For the past 4 years I have volunteered at my local library assisting with recycling their newspapers and cans/bottles. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
