Skye Oyama '24 Recruiting Profile

Aloha Coaches, 

 I am heading into my senior year and graduating in the Class of 2024. I attend Konawaena High School and play on the Varsity Boys Soccer Team. Ending the 2022-2023 school year, I had a year GPA of 4.0 and a cumulative 3.5 GPA. I have completed several IB or early college courses through the University of Hawaii system and am enrolled in a few more for the upcoming year. I started playing soccer with AYSO when I was 5 years old. As I got older and my competitive drive grew, I joined the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association in 2015. I played with several competitive teams and currently am a member of Kona Crush Soccer Academy. I am versatile on the field as I can be utilized in many positions. For example, I can be played as a right or left wing attacker. You can also utilize me in the midfield, whether it be holding, defensive mid, or attacking. I am a crafty, creative dribbler who has gotten better at knowing when to hold onto the ball and when to get rid of it. I like to think of myself as a visionary as I anticipate my teammates movements or prepare to play them at their feet. Although soccer is my main sport, I have competed in several other club sports as a way to cross train on my off seasons. I have engaged in state and national competitions for Judo and Powerlifting in my elementary and middle school years. Swimming and Track are also other sports that have contributed to my growth as a student athlete. I am a respectful, driven, hard working student athlete. I reflect daily on how I can become a better son, brother, student, athlete, and person. I look forward to the next phase of my life and am open to the opportunities that will come.
