Hi, I'm Joshua Conger and I am a senior at Gardner South Wilmington High School. I'm the Goalkeeper for my soccer team, which GSW co-ops soccer with Reed Custer High School in Braidwood, Illinois. Soccer has been a passion of mine since I started playing two years ago. When I started playing soccer it showed me how to be a good leader for all of my teammates. I also play football, basketball and do trap shooting at school, these three sports also play a huge part in how I play in soccer. Basketball has showed me how to make quick decisions while in the game and trap shooting helps me with my hand-eye coordination being a goalie in soccer. I took a year off my sophomore year for soccer and my junior year starting back up on my team I made All Sectional and All Conference Honorable Mention this season. My stats on maxpreps.com National #104, Illinois #16, IL 1A #12, Illinois Central #3, Illinois High School Association #13. Dyslexia makes me work twice as hard on my school work and twice as hard in all of my sports as well. I attend GAVC which is our vocational program through the school and I'm in the welding program there. I want to major in engineering and I work for my dad in the summer with fiber optics to sharpen my skills. Overall, pushing myself to work hard and use all of my skills from other sports and putting them into my soccer games.
