Soccer has been an important part of my life for the last five years. It drives me to play hard and work harder. I enjoy being a part of a team as it gives me a sense of belonging to a group outside of my current friends. I have played many places in Illinois against many other athletes that were better than me. Being defeated by them taught me how to change my game and work on some of my weaker points on the field.
One of my favorite players has always been Cristiano Ronaldo. I aspire to be like him because he is resilient and very well versed on the field. Seeing him inspires me to continue to push through even my bad days because we cannot get to the rainbow without the storm.
Our freshman season had started out on hold due to Covid. However, due to the decline in numbers, we were able to start our season in March. Our season will complete the second week of April, and I will finish the season having played every game almost every minute as a Varsity Defensive player. Thus far I have only missed out on an hour of play due to a small overstretch of a muscle. I look forward to finishing out this year strong so I can continue to push forward and play Varsity every year.
