My name is Jack Rice. I am a 6 foot, 180lb 2023 recruit, and I play target striker. I play for FC United, located in Chicago, Illinois. My physical strength and speed allow me to hold up play in the final third and press defenders effectively. My club coaches are Greg Hennelly ([email protected], 515-371-3539), and Mike Skupien ([email protected], 708-525-0148), who you can contact regarding my play.
Throughout my life , I have played and loved soccer. I started when I was seven years old, and my devotion and tenacity for the game has only developed from then to now. I believe my vision of the field, physicality, coach-ability, and ability to make others around me better by being selfless makes me an asset on any team I play for. I am open to playing any division offered, and aspire to play at the collegiate level.
Growing up, I played soccer, lacrosse, and judo. The discipline of judo has helped me focus on the use of my body in the physical aspect of soccer. The one on one competitive aspect of judo has given me an advantage in the one on one confrontations on the soccer field. It has taught me how to recover physically and mentally from the highs and lows of the game. The grind of perfecting techniques and getting stronger in judo has helped me immensely to grow in soccer and affords me a unique advantage on the field.
In addition to soccer, academics, friends and family are the things I value most in life. My family has inspired me to be the best I can be and to work hard in everything I do. From an academic standpoint, I work very hard in school, striving to maintain a straight A average.
In my free time, I train to keep my fitness and foot work up at a high level throughout the year. I lift everyday and play in a men's league 3 times per week to get as much practice in as possible. Other than sports, I have been teaching myself to play the drums/guitar and enjoy playing music with my friends.
