I have been playing soccer since I was three years old. I think one of the most important moments in my soccer career was in my freshman year of high school. We won the JV championship for the first time in my school’s history. This, however, wasn’t the important part. The important part was watching how much we grew as a team. This was our first year together as a team and after our first game (we lost) I realized how much work we still needed to do to achieve our goals. This thought process also caused me to grow as a person and helped me realize that with hard work what might have seemed impossible could be in reach.
I would love to play soccer at a school with both challenging academics and a relatively good soccer program. I have been playing soccer many years – in doing so, I have experienced highs and lows, played on good and bad teams, and have been accepted onto and rejected by teams. But I have never given up and have always worked hard and tried to be a leader on my team regardless of the circumstances. For these reasons, I believe I have what it takes to play on, and potentially lead, your team.
