My experiences with succeeding in three sports and the classroom have given me the work ethic and competitive mentality to thrive in the college soccer atmosphere. Having to push through swim practices, soccer practices, and baseball practices every day of the week and still find time to do schoolwork allowed me to understand how to push myself and my body consistently. Along with the unique workload, I developed a competitive spirit which carries into every part of my life. My constant idea is that I always know I can be better which keeps me working, and I pride myself on my ability to work harder and longer than other people are willing to.
Although I recently broke my collarbone, I haven’t let that stop me from working hard and doing everything and anything I can to improve. The time I’ve spent out has taught me how to overcome adversity and maintain a drive to control what I can control even when the motivation and reward for my hard work isn’t immediate. I’m coming back stronger, harder, and better than ever and I know I’ll be ready to perform as soon am I’m able to.
In college, I look forward to succeeding in the academic side as well as the athletic side. I know I will be able to contribute because of the consistent work I will put in along with my leadership and interpersonal skills I gained from captaining different sports, teams, and atmospheres.
