College is finally here, along with striving to succeed academically, I'd like to pursue my time as a collegiate soccer player. As a dedicated team player, my athleticism and high work rate allows me to maximize my ability to its full potential.
Playing two sports (basketball and soccer) with high school and club seasons, the feedback I get from my coaches and teammates are vital components of my success on the field. I've learned that commitment, dedication, and willingness to sacrifice is what will set me apart from other players. I have genuine love for the game and am willing to do whatever it takes to be successful.
On my club team I have played center back and also midfield. The skills learned at the club level have enabled me to be versatile for my varsity high school team. When game situations call for position changes, I have the willingness to do whatever is asked of me for the well being of our team. In college, my goal is to play midfield or center back based on team need.
I understand by attending college, the rigid structure of classes, study halls, conditioning workouts, and practice on the soccer field will be challenging, ultimately "a dream come true". I feel the opportunity to play at the collegiate level would be, the culmination of all of my hard work and sacrifice. It would be how I could best utilize my God given talent, my energy, and my leadership skills.
